Park’N Fly Data Breach Exposes Information of One Million Canadians
Park’N Fly, a popular Canadian airport parking service, recently disclosed a significant data breach affecting approximately one million customer accounts. The breach occurred between July 11 and July 13, 2024, when hackers gained unauthorized access to the company’s network through stolen VPN credentials. The compromised data includes customers’ names, email addresses, physical addresses, Aeroplan numbers, and CAA membership numbers.
The company confirmed that no financial or payment card information was exposed in the breach. However, the exposed information could potentially lead to phishing attacks or other forms of identity theft, prompting Park’N Fly to urge affected customers to remain vigilant. The breach was discovered on August 1, 2024, but customers were only notified later that month.
Park’N Fly has since restored its systems and is working with cybersecurity experts to bolster its defenses. The company expressed regret for the incident and emphasized its commitment to safeguarding customer information moving forward ( Global News, MobileSyrup, BleepingComputer).
