CASABLANCA — July 10, 2025 — The spirit of sustainability and youth empowerment was on full display this week at the Sustainable Innovation Fest (SIF) 2025, held in Casablanca under the banner of Enactus Morocco. The event brought together student-led teams from across the country to present real-world solutions to pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges—many with a distinctly Moroccan focus.

Supported by the EU-funded Green Forward initiative, SIF 2025 served as both a national showcase and a launchpad for projects aiming to earn a spot at the Enactus World Cup 2025 in Thailand. Finalists from the festival will compete on a global stage later this year.

Innovating for Impact: Spotlight on Student Projects

The event was a celebration of youth-led innovation, combining entrepreneurship with environmental consciousness and community development. Among the most notable teams and their initiatives:

  • FST Mohammedia presented a trio of powerful projects:
    • “Aji Nkriw” — A sustainable housing concept offering affordable, eco-friendly building alternatives for low-income communities.
    • “CoTalib” — A student consulting network that connects university talent with local businesses and startups to provide strategic insights.
    • “NutriVital” — A socially responsible snack brand promoting healthy eating with locally sourced, environmentally sustainable ingredients.
  • FP Larache introduced “Tijwal”, a rural tourism platform aimed at boosting Morocco’s regional economies by connecting travelers with under-discovered cultural and ecological destinations. By spotlighting rural heritage and crafts, Tijwal empowers local communities while promoting low-impact, authentic travel.

Backing Green Entrepreneurship

SIF 2025 was more than a competition; it was a rallying call for sustainable entrepreneurship. Backed by the Green Forward initiative, a program co-funded by the European Union, the festival is part of a broader effort to foster a new generation of climate-conscious entrepreneurs in Morocco and beyond.

Representatives from EU delegations, Enactus leadership, and Moroccan universities praised the caliber of the projects and their alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of responsible consumption, quality education, and economic inclusion.

“These young innovators are turning ideas into action,” said Dr. Salma Najib, program director at Green Forward. “They’re not just solving local problems—they’re creating scalable, sustainable models for the world.”

On the Road to the Enactus World Cup

With the winners now selected, attention turns to the Enactus World Cup 2025, set to take place in Thailand later this year. The Moroccan finalists will join global teams to pitch their projects, share ideas, and network with impact-driven entrepreneurs and investors from around the world.

For the teams at SIF, the road ahead promises not only opportunity, but also responsibility. As climate and inequality remain defining issues of this generation, youth-led innovation stands as a beacon of hope—and action.
