Internet Archive Hacked: 31 Million Passwords Stolen in Major Data Breach
Home to the Wayback Machine and around 31 million users data compromised due to a significant cyberattack on The Internet Archive. Compromised data: Email addresses, Names, Passwords (Bcrypt) At the same time, a series of DDoS attacks rendered the platform momentarily unreachable. A hacktivist group called BlackMeta has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is unclear if they actually breached the data. The Internet Archive is still working to step up its security and looking into the source of the attack.
