Verizon has announced that it is shutting down its popular messaging app, Verizon Messages (Message+), as part of a shift towards adopting Rich Communication Services (RCS) to provide a better messaging experience. The app will be fully discontinued on November 7, 2024. Verizon encourages users to switch to Google Messages on Android or iMessage on Apple devices. This move aligns with broader industry changes as RCS becomes the standard, replacing older SMS and MMS protocols for a more modern messaging experience(PhoneArena).
