Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a presumed successor to former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, was killed in an air strike carried out by Israel. The operation hit a site in the Lebanese capital that intelligence reports said was an underground bunker where top members of Hezbollah were gathering. Hezbollah still has not officially confirmed Safieddine’s death, though the Israeli military did. This comes as Israel expands its military campaign against Hezbollah in south Lebanon, amid a growing regional tension. (The Times of Israel)(GZERO Media)(The Jerusalem Post)
